Dear Admissions Committee,
I am writing to present my academic and practical background as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science student at the University of the People, where I have been enrolled since September 2026 as a recipient of the UoPeople Foundation Scholarship. The scholarship supports my undergraduate studies, and I am actively progressing through the degree program with a focus on practical software and systems thinking.
My commitment to computer science is not theoretical. Alongside my studies, I design and build working digital products that address real problems for small and medium-sized businesses in Ghana. Each project below is a live or in-development platform that applies the analytical and engineering discipline my degree demands:
- Kudora — On-Demand Services Platform. An on-demand service platform helping customers discover and book barbering, salon, beauty and laundry services wherever they need them.
- AkatsiMarket — Local Business & Service Directory. A local information and vendor-connection pilot created from real enquiries about trusted businesses, accommodation, directions, prices and services in Akatsi.
- VoltaMarket — Regional Commerce & Tourism Platform. A regional platform concept for discovering markets, market days, vendors, local services, products, attractions and activities across Ghana's Volta Region.
In total, my portfolio spans 16 projects covering marketplaces, local commerce, AI-assisted tools, health and productivity applications — each documented with the problem, the solution approach and the lessons learned. You can explore the full portfolio on my projects page and a structured summary on my CV page.
Professionally, I work as a Software Developer & Digital Solutions Entrepreneur through Independent Practice. That experience grounds my technical work in real operational problems: understanding the process, organizing information and solving the underlying issue.
My long-term goal is to build and support technology that creates practical economic value for SMEs and communities across Ghana and Africa. A strong academic foundation in computer science is central to that goal, and my enrollment at the University of the People — combined with the applied portfolio above — reflects both the commitment and the capability I bring.
Thank you for your consideration. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss my background further.
Sincerely,
Theophilus Morkporkpor Kudzordzi
